Rated 5 von 5 von aus The best drills for wall tiles This is the second time that I have bought Bosch blue Multi-purpose drills from Screwfix. I decided to extend my range of sizes because I needed to drill into an (expensively!) tiled bathroom wall to fix the bathroom fittings. These drills did the job perfectly - there were no cracked tiles. Note that SDS Extreme masonry drills are NOT suitable for tiles because their tips are deliberately made blunt, so that they can hammer their way through bricks and concrete. If you need to drill through fragile materials such as wall tiles then use the Bosch Multipurpose drill bit WITHOUT the 'Hammer' setting. (Good tip: Put masking tape over the spot where you plan to drill - it stops the drill bit skidding when you start the hole.)

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Tile Drilling Needed to drill holes for fixings in porcelain tiles. These tiles are ultra hard and pose a real problem. Reading the product descriptions for suitability, I tried several very expensive bits which were absolutely useless. Some didn't even drill one hole. A friend recommended I try these Bosch bits. Ok they do wear out, but managed to drill about a dozen holes before it started to blunt. For the price they are absolute perfect for the job. Don't waste money on the more expensive options.

Rated 1 von 5 von aus useless brought these in a few different sizes before a big weekend job , lucky i also picked up a few others at the same time other wise id have been stuffed abserlutly useless these drill bits , it claims on the packet they can drill through brick .....after about 5 mins it have made a dent put another masonry bit in the same drill on hammer and it went straight through..... thought id give it another go on wood ...well it went through the wood but only cause i pushed it through ,metal they just spin off line , same with plastic don't waste your money

Rated 1 von 5 von aus Useless in concrete Bought this to drill 6 holes at 50mm deep into the concrete floor of my house for each of my 3 door thresholds which are held down with 6 plastic pegs. It just about made it for the first threshold. 4 holes drilled and the bit was very blunt. I drilled the last 2 holes at 5mm with another bit and opened up these holes with this drill bit. An overall drilling depth of 300mm before blunting? Useless. I expected more from Bosch - most of my power tools are Bosch. Admittedly concrete is the hardest thing these "jack of all trades" are expected to drill, but they are supposed to act as a masonry bit. I'll be buying a Dewalt extreme 2 bit to do the holes for my last 2 thresholds.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Brilliant I had to drill 32 holes into ¼ iron bar; I had nothing in my repertoire of drill bits that would last more than one hole! I had seen multipurpose drill bits advertised recently, so thought I would give them a try. Somewhat apprehensively I acquired two Bosch Multipurpose Drill Bit 6 x 100 mm. Brilliant almost like a hot knife through butter. Slow drill speed with some 3:1 oil as lubrication to keep down metal drill cuttings and dust. Should have only purchased one drill bit, I’ll give the other to my son! Have not got the audacity to take it back!

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Just the job for ceramic tiles The wife spent a fortune on the tiles in the new ensuite so had to make sure that none of them got broken drilling holes for the shower glass. So I spent out on the expensive ones only to find it took over 10 mins to drill one hole and it gave up after two holes. Went back to Screwfix and bought two of these cheaper ones and they went through in less than a minute and finished the job with no accidents. Result! Tip: keep dipping in water every 15 secs or so to keep the bit cool. Happy wife, happy life!

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Superb Drill Bit Over many years I have used many types of MASONRY bits. Wow this one is first class, If I used a normal masonry bit it wouldn't have lasted through one hole let alone 10 drilling through a concrete /steel lintel. Would recommend this drill bit its first class.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Does what it says ... Drilled a hole in concrete block without needing hammer setting. Great what I wanted. Job done thank you screwfix. Only used once so cannot rate reliability higher.
