Rated 4 von 5 von aus Classic piece of kit Just to clarify some of the earlier comments I've posted a photo of this installed in my workshop. I used 50774 M6 coachbolts to attach it to the bench. It's just like the old Record vice I used years ago and much cheaper than trying to find one of those secondhand. It has nice touches like the pre-drilled holes for screws to secure the jaw protectors (they're made out of offcuts from pallet wood). About the only problem I found was that one of the sliders wasn't fully screwed into the front plate but that was easily solved.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Confusion I haven't bought this vice but have one similar to it. I write this just to point out the confusion caused in some of these reviews regarding cutting channels out of the workbench because of the ''bulge'' underneath and the ''securing arms being cut away on an angle". This is not the case as It's not meant to be screwed down onto the top surface of the workbench, it's meant to be screwed up underneath the front edge of the bench lol how anyone could think otherwise beats me. :)

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Great value woodwork vice Bought this inexpensive woodwork vice to replace a broken more expensive unit. Had it attached to the bench within half an hour with out any problems. A good value vice, that would suit any DIY enthusiast and had it in use instantly.Would recommend this vice to anyone who wants an inexpensive versatile small vice. Great value for the price.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Great value vice I now have two of these vices in my workshop. They are robustly made and clamp the work piece very firmly. Great value for what they are. Very easy to fit using 4 x M6 coach bolts (not supplied) but, as mentioned by other reviewers, these vices are designed to be fitted to the underside of your work surface and not on the top like a metal working vice.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus my vice revealed Anyone who has struggled to work on a piece of wood knows there is no substitute for the firm grip of a vice, leaving both your hands free to be accurate and workmanlike. This is an excellent inexpensive tool which took about twenty minutes to install; coach bolts through the bench, which I felt needed wide washers to spread the load from the bolts, and 3/8" wood facings fitted to both jaws to protect the piece being worked on and the tools being used.

Rated 1 von 5 von aus Absolutely awful! I'm a joiner/carpenter & wanted something 'cheap & cheerful' for the garage workshop. Wow, this is literally such a bad product I can't believe it has any stars! I'd have better luck placing the workpiece between my knees! - mount is at an odd angle (not 90deg) to the work surface when mounted - The various components work themselves loose every time you use it, so it wobbles & falls apart mid use. I've had to tape the pieces together to stop this happening - The vice literally warps if you have the workpiece in the side of the clamp. Don't, under any circumstances buy this vice. Invest in something better like I should have!

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Idle Vice...Idle Vice... ... Every morning it greets me (still in its box awaiting installation). But it certainly looks and feels like a solid piece of kit. Surprised there were no fittings or fitting instructions in the box, but I'm guessing everyones fitting details are different and there are certainly lots of (laborious) videos on You Tube showing how to install. In my case I'm going to countersink into my worktop installing from underneath, which is probably the only way what with the angled underside of the vice itself....And dont forget to add replacable wood plates to the inside vice saws, which will obviously reduce its opening dimensions.

Rated 2 von 5 von aus Not what I expected at all. Overall I feel this was a pretty awful vice, mainly due to the play between the rods the vice runs along, this come undone and looser the more you use and it is annoying to be constantly tightening it up. The grip it gives as well is not up to the standard of better makes, Irwin for example. On another note the handle has threaded ends that have screw on caps, these work themselves loose when sanding or planing and then the rod falls from the vice, yet another inconvenience. All in all it isn't great and should be viewed as an absolute beginner level vice. But if you are wanting the good stuff I'd pay more and get your moneys worth with a much better one.
